Visiting Niagara Falls. What is the best place to stay? Buffalo?

I am planning to visit Niagara with my family. We are a couple and planning to stay there overnight. Can you suggest some safe places where to stay. Is Buffalo a right option to stay and drive to Niagara? I am not particular about the budget. Upto 150$ should be fine for a hotel but looking for a safe place. Please help.

Well if you haven't been to BUFFALO you MUST visit the city!
I'd stay in Buffalo right down town at the Adams Mark--it's a nice place and it's central--you'll be about 30 min from Niagara and only about 10 or so miles from the airport. : ) WNY ROCKS & head to Duffy's for some GREAT CHICKEN WINGS!!!
