Hi,

I looked at some of the local shelters, etc. in our area and came up with some names that may help you. In most cases if they don't have what you are looking for they will certainly add your name to their list, and when something becomes available they will call you. Good Luck and let us know how you do.

i would get a dog from a shelter that puts dogs to sleep so you can save a life. if you dont do that your practically killing a dog.

Have you checked the Dutchess County SPCA. They do not put dogs down and many of them go through obedience school. They usually have way more dogs then they can handle.

Check them out. I think they are on 9G in Hyde Park.

Hi. I'm from the Hudson Valley area of NY. I now live in RI but know there are plenty of shelters you can get a new friend from. Check out the newspaper there too, I know they used to have a section in there on pets of the week that were for adoption. As cute as Michigan pup maybe, it's really best to interact with a pet before you bring it home to familiarize yourself with it's personality.

Try pets911.com. Good Luck and when you check petfinder make sure to look at the top, it will say shelter and rescue groups then you can click on ANY group in your state listed by city and sometimes they show more dogs. Regards KG
