I'm a huge Jets fan I was very disappointed with this season. I think next year will be better if Chad is at QB and Darren McFadden is in the backfield. Also, I would make a push for Terrell Suggs or Haynesworth. Also, fire Bob Sutton. Not a good defensive coordinator. Jonathan Vilma has been ruined by this guy and if we fire him Vilma can be saved.

What really hurt the Jets this season, well, hurt them. When they're healthy, they're a good team. When they're not healthy, in the words of their greatest legend, Joe Namath, they're strugg-a-ling. It's been the pattern. No matter what kind of talent and brains a team has, sometimes it comes down to luck. Heck, even Fireman Ed got hurt and missed games!
At least they've got a good attitude: With all their problems, they brought as much "A-game" as possible against the Cheatriots, and had their chances in several games. Jet fans can walk away from this season with their heads held high -- though the Jets themselves, at the rate they're going, may sprain their necks if they try that.
Put this season in the past, and focus on what you can do with whatever health players you have. The Pats can't win forever, the Dolphins can't win now, and the Bills, who knows, they're a step-forward, step-back team. A healthy Jets would have been the second-best team in the AFC East, and could have made the Playoffs. The situation is hardly hopeless.
You mentioned McFadden: Assuming he comes out for the draft, and he's available, get him. The Jets still have not found the successor to Curtis Martin. Finding him would ease the pressure on Pennington, and he might not try to do so much, thus cutting down on his risks and maybe keeping him healthier. It would be a big help.
