I Know that when the last crash accured, the whole problem was fear...people sold there stocks...can the governement freeze the stock market if things look like there getting bad now?
just a thought...dont know much about laws within the market...

I think there are breakers

in case there are huge sell offs...
but remember too... stocks are shares of ownerships of companies that have actually physical assets.
It's hard for them to become completely worthless.
