(New York/Brighton, N.Y.) - A plea deal in the works may have an impact on the case of body parts stolen from deceased people in local funeral homes.
Michael Mastromarino is accused of orchestrating a plot with funeral home directors to sell body parts for transplants.
He once had in office in Brighton.
Three area funeral home directors have also been charged with grave robbing and other felony offenses.
Mastromarino will plead guilty next week and cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
