What programs do you use for making money from your web sites?

I have always had success with Google Adsense.

I have tried some other programs such as Auction Ads and Brite Ads but they did not do as well.

I also tried some of the affiliate manager sites like Commission Junction which I couldn't even get to load right in my web browser after signing up.

What are your favorite programs, and why?

Are there any that you absolutely recommend people don't use?

Good topic Raymond

Adsense is a great way for forums. Auction ads was bought right after they were introduced and I never made a penny with them. They are now called shopping ads and I have removed them from my sites. If you log into auction ads you will even get a redirect to the new site.

I learned about a new google service today called Google Alerts (http://www.google.com/alerts/).

Now I get an e-mail when Google sees that someone new has linked to the site.

Thanks to Vinny for that tip!

It is also a good idea to set up an alert with your name in it. It saves you from having to google yourself.

I have a little experience here...

Copeac (http://affiliates.copeac.com/signup/2429) is a cool CPA network.
Azoogle (https://www.azoogleads.com/corp/publishers/apply.php?i=29389) is popular, but I haven't had much success with them.
CPA Empire (http://login.tracking101.com/ez/cknaazpkxne/) is another - but I only use them as a backup, in case I'm running an offer on Copeac and it's canceled.
Millnic Media (http://affiliates.millnicmedia.com/signup/CD2053) is one that I have an account with, but only use to get ideas. I then tell my rep at Copeac what I want and how much I want to be paid, and he makes it happen :)Those were CPA networks - typically you're paid a flat rate on someone doing something (for example, this advertiser is giving away free healthy samples - enter your zip code to see if there are any left in your area (http://www.cpaclicks.com/redirect.asp?a=2429&b=8020&d=0&l=0&o=dny&p=0)).

Then there are networks that pay you a commission of the sale.

Commission Junction (http://www.cj.com/)
Linkshare (http://www.linkshare.com/)
Shareasale (http://www.shareasale.com/)Those are the biggies. There are others out there, too. Finally, if you're good enough, you can find CPC offers, which pay you per click. Doesn't matter if the user does anything beyond that. AdSense is an example of that. It's an easy way to get started, I suppose.

Finding the right offer, however, is only 1/2 of the solution. How do you get users to your site, so they'll complete the offer????
