I'm pretty sure something like the Syracuse Dinosaur food poisoning (http://foodpoisoning.pritzkerlaw.com/archives/norovirus-dinosaur-food-poisoning-norovirus-suspected.html) that happened a little over a year ago happened again last week at the Rochester dinosaur. We had dinosaur for lunch on Thursday, a variety of lunches, and everyone was sick (yeah, :Puking_Smiley:, and the other way ) on Friday. We all just figured it out today we were all sick at the same time a couple days ago.
I just called the dinosaur asking about it. The took my name and number. Apparently no one else has complained, which is weird. Their manager is going to call back later I guess to let us know if anyone else calls or something.

OMG This is so gross. A group of people got ill from eating at the same restaurant on Friday night. :Puking_Smiley:
http://www.pritzkerlaw.com/norwalk-virus/
Norovirus is transmitted from one person to another via unwashed hands, projectile vomiting or by other means. In many cases, people get the virus by swallowing water or food that has become contaminated with stool from someone who is infected. The food most commonly associated with Norovirus outbreaks is shellfish. Clams, oysters and other shellfish can become contaminated from raw sewage dumped by boaters. Water, ice, produce and ready-to-eat foods are also common sources of Norovirus infection.

This just came up today: Food poisoning can be long-term problem (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080121/ap_on_he_me/healthbeat_food_poisoning;_ylt=As6t5sY_w5FsDi7xeyj hbxYDW7oF)
high blood pressure, kidney damage, even full kidney failure striking 10 to 20 years later in people who survived severe E. coli infection as children, arthritis after a bout of salmonella or shigella, and a mysterious paralysis that can attack people who just had mild symptoms of campylobacter
yuck!

It's official. We never got a call back from the Manager at Dinosaur so one of the guys at work called the Health Dept. There were many complaints about the Dinosaur recently. We were not the only ones who got sick. Yuck, wash your hands people!

that's a damned shame . . . we used to have many happy friday lunches at that place. In fact they opened another one in Manhattan a couple of years ago that I've been meaning to get to.

I'm pretty sure we'll still go from time to time same as we do now.
I dunno, it's a little disgusting thinking about what you might be eating though.

Whats weird is they usually try and compensate with a free meal. Like after what you went through you would want to eat there again. :Puking_Smiley:

Trust me, I wasn't eating. I made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and brought it to work with me because I didn't know they switched caterers. I told one of the girls at work what happened to Ray and the guys he works with and they switched to Famous Dave's (http://www.famousdaves.com/) We got ribs that were excellent. Their cornbread muffins are the best I ever had. That was the first cornbread I ever had that wasn't dry.

Yeah, we did several lunches with interviews the last couple weeks.
Rosie's (http://www.rochestercitynewspaper.com/dining/guide/Rosey+s+Italian+Cafe/) seems to be the new place to go for us now.
