I am going to a concert at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York. I'll be arriving the night of the concert [the night of 2/1] and will be leaving mid-day [2/2]. I want to spend the day [2/2] in New York City. Where should I stay that is safe and well worth it? I am willing to pay MAX $200. I also do not like driving in the city. Is there somewhere close I could stay that has a subway system or a means of transportation to get to the city? Someone told me to get a hotel in Newark and take their train, is that a good idea? Any other ideas, please help!
