Where is a good place to eat near Central Park in New York?

I'm an Englishman who is off to NY with my girly in April. We're staying at the Wellington Hotel near the south side of Central Park. Just wanna know some nice places to eat (cheap but nice) Not too tourist-y... where the New Yorkers eat out!

If you are eating in the Central Park area or anywhere in Manhattan it will be pricey and you have a choice of any kind of food imaginable. I LOVE NEW YORK. Going there again this summer, was there twice last year. I have a son living there so that makes it even more special.
