New York City trip...how to ask mom?

me and my friend are planning to go to new york city for 3 days and 2 nights in march to see a broadway show (young frankenstein). the only problem is im afraid to ask my mom! i'll be 19 and my friend will be 18, so we are old enough to go but my mom is very over protective. when it comes to stuff like this, she says that it's not that she doesn't trust me, she just doesn't trust other people. apparently my friend already asked her mom and she doesn't seem too concerned over it, and they usually agree on stuff like this - but im still scared to ask! lol how can i ask her? what approach should i take? we reeeally want to go! thank you :)

if I were you i would talk to my mother let her know where you are staying your itinerary for the trip and tell her you will check in with her every morning and every night. If your mother is over protective a trip to NYC is going to be hard to pull off. I know I wouldn't want my young girls going without me or their father.

Apparently you shouldn't be worried to ask to go to NYC. Just don't ask to go to Buffalo or Rochester. :eek:
