How is the subway/bus system in Buffalo, NY?

Just wondering since SUNY Buffalo is one of the schools topping my list. During college I will not want anything even remotely approaching a car.

The subway only runs from UB's South Campus to downtown, along Main St. However, I like the bus system here. Check out the NFTA site (http://nfta.com/metro/) for more info, including directions on how to get from Point A to Point B using public transportation.
