Alright, here's pretty much how it goes.

I want to move from where i'm staying now,
with my parents to Buffalo, NY. Reason being,
to be with my G/F, that's going to College.

My dilema.. not quite sure how much $ I should
plan on saving before going. My bills, the only
thing I pay now, is a house bill (200$), & my cell bill ($56), which i'll be cancelling, because my service is only a
cheap local thing.

I'll be staying with her for as long as I need to first,
her parents were actually ok with that. And rent for little studio/1bdrm Apartments hang around 500-600$/mth.

I would plan on selling my car before going, so I won't
have to pay to ship that there as well. So that & my suspension should probably fetch around $5k. Which i'd probably use 4k of that for a car, when i'm there.

I'd have to pay for moving my stuff, which is probably going
to cost around $1,000. For what I have, around 1,200lbs.

Any advice, or knowledge with this kind of thing
is appreciated.

Sounds like you have put a lot of thought into your move. Congratulations! This is a huge step. I am guessing that you have already considered driving to NY. But that would be a lot cheaper. I would probably have a garage sale and unload some stuff that will be easier to buy new when you get to your destination. May be store some of the things that you can not part with but do not need right away. All that being said, I would probably plan on leaving with at least $10,000 if you are going to buy a car. But you could make do with half that amount if you drive.

I think you don't need all that much IF you already have a job and will have money coming in as soon as you get here. That would take alot of pressure off of you. Obviously you'd need enough for the rent for a few months and the security 1st/last if they charge that and just minimal incidentals. I would say drive it too, I drove when I moved out west, it was boring through alot of the flat states but still a cool thing to say you've done on top of the money savings.

BUffalo is cheap. If you have $50 on you, you're set for a few months.
