After hanging out at DNY for so long I am hooked.* I did some research on Maryland forums and there*are no good ones.* I am going to open up a Maryland forum.* My only problem is I do not know Vbulletin.* I will have to save up some money to pay someone to install it for me.* I am giving up www.kidsdefenseteam.org (http://www.kidsdefenseteam.org/) and am going to run just www.kidsdefenseteam.com (http://www.kidsdefenseteam.com/) that way I will have time for the Maryland forum and DNY.* I just want a good theme for the forum and a few games.* Once everything is installed I know how to run it,* but installing it is a problem for me.* I am a dummy when it comes to that.* I would need a decent banner.* I have an idea for the banner also but would need to pay someone to build that also.** The banner would be the Chesapeake Bay and the Maryland Blue Crab, possibly the Bay Bridge and a Lighthouse.* Since I have alot of politian friends including the Gov. in Maryland because of Kids Defense Team I thought I could have a section for them to post their info.* I would need some good SEO and whatever else to make it in the search engines.**

I have Yahoo. Still trying to think of a name. All the good Maryland names are taken. discussmaryland.com is avail but I want to ask Ray if he minds cause he has discussny. I dont want him to think I am copying or being a slime. I just cant find a good Maryland name. MARYLANDCHATFORUM.COM is available also. Someone must of bought a bulk of Maryland names. :banghead:

Let me ask you something. First, would you like to help, second, I have kidsdefenseteam.org already up, would it be simpliar to rebuilt that and buy marylandchatforum.com and the forward that domain to kidsdefenseteam.org or just start from scratch. I would like to just start simple. The forum, some google adsense, and some good SEO. Games and anything else can wait because I want to get the forum rolling for people to post in there. I am going to go by the domain now while it is avail. Thanks.

I would say redirect the KDT .org domain to the .com domain... or vice versa, since you're working KDT as a nonprofit. Then you can use the other one for the MD forums.

Thats what I was thinking and of coarse you get a invite silly as soon as I can get some help building it. Tax money is coming in so I figure I could afford VERY little money to pay someone. I here it is expensive to hire someone though. I do know someone special that might help me out. ;)

I'd say have both sites working first before you do the redirect. Don't forget to make the redirect a permanent one. You make even want to make a special landing page for it in the new site so that visitors are not confused.

I am thinking of shutting down www.kidsdefenseteam.org (http://www.kidsdefenseteam.org) since I have www.kidsdefenseteam.com (http://www.kidsdefenseteam.com) and then have www.marylandchatforum.com (http://www.marylandchatforum.com) and I can advertise www.kidsdefenseteam.com (http://www.kidsdefenseteam.com) on the maryland chat I can have a kids section in the maryland chat forum that way people might actually wanna come and visit unlike kidsdefenseteam.org where the only visitors I get are spam bots. I also want Ray as a Admin if he will put up with me.

Oh my, good luck. I had 30 bucks in my account and paid for the domain. :( I used that money instead of buying bread. :rolleyes: Will that help.

Practice makes perfect, I have the site up on a more stable php hosting site. No, admincp errors. Ray you will have to sign in again as I just did a fresh install.

I found a place that is better for hosting VB and PHP.* So it back to installing again while it is fresh in my mind.* I should be getting good at this by now. lol.

Anyone wishing to run this forum for me and has experience please let me know. I would be the owner and occasional participate and someone who is dedicated would be the admin.* My only requirements would be, no adult content, no promoting drugs, drinking, and you would have dedication to the site. You would have full control over the site. I realized I am not that great at running one of these forums.</p>I also just signed on a couple more college contracts and will be training more students in what I do at Kids Defense Team. I will have seminars to give and will be taking up time with that.
