I looked at this Vbulletin all day long and it might as well be from Mars because I can not understand any of it.* Only thing I understood is renaming the config file to config.php and that you open up the files in wordpad to edit them.* How you edit them is beyond me.* And then there is Mysql.* YIKES.** What the heck are they talking about.* Anyone wishing to help me get this up you can catch me on yahoo under the screen name kdt_president* I want to come back to DNY to be the GOOGLER again but I need to get this darn website up and running.* Will it help if I get on my knees and BEG.* I am not beyond doing that.* I have the files extracted I am just afraid to upload them to the server because I know you have to edit the config file before doing so.* What was I thinking.* I am better off being a googler, at least I know what I was doing there.* I just hate to see a VB license go to waste.** Going to see how much more of it I can screw up.** Update you later.

Yikes! You're not stupid, installing vBulletin just isn't something you're familiar with, I didn't know what heck I was doing the first couple times either. :)
I just added you to my Yahoo Messenger.. (ourdjtalk is my SN). I'll be out most of the day tomorrow but when we can meet up I'll walk you through it.
While your waiting here is a general run down of how to install, I'm assuming you're on a cPanel host:
Open cpanel > Select mySQL databases.
Create a new database
Create a new new mysql user and password (remember this information)
Open vBulletin's config.php and plug in your database information where it asks for it.
Save config.php
Upload all the vBulletin files in the 'upload' folder to public_html via FTP
Go to website.com/install/install.php this will run the install script.
vBulletin will make you delete install.php before you can access your admincp this has to be done via FTP
You've just installed vBulletin! :)

Hey Raven,
I'm on my way out the door, here's a quick screen shot though.. Click on it for full size, everything is marked, what's labeled is the only things you have to change in config.php. Be sure to put the information in between the apostrophe marks (' ')

That's awesome Raven!! :)
Now you have to setup forums using the forum manager and get people to come to your site.
The hardest part is getting members, I know from experience, I'm sure Ray can help you with some advice in that arena. :)

Ok, yesterday I was allowed to add forums to the VB site today I get this error message. Any ideas how to fix it. I get this in the Maryland Counties after I get so far in adding the counties then I get this error below.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Funny story about cast iron fryin pan and griddle. My ex wanted them in the divorce agreement. He ask for them and I had to bring them to court with me. They were so freaking heavy, I couldn't carry them in there. When the judge ask for them I had to tell him they were in the car and the ex could pick them up on his way out. The lawyers were getting ticked from writing letters back and forth cause my ex kept wanting that fryin pan and griddle. That and the SUV. He left me with no wheels to provide no transportation for the kids and still wanted the fryin pan too. Its in the divorce decree. :bootyshake: :muahaha:
