Never save your passwords on shared computers. It's not necessarially a good thing to do if you have your own login or computer either, since you can walk away or the computer can be stolen. Never give out personal information online. There are also some general internet safety rules for kids (http://www.discussny.com/showthread.php?t=14):
Ten Safety Rules for Kids Who Use the Internet
Always ask your parents' permission before using your full name, address, telephone number or school name anywhere on the Internet.
Always tell your parents or guardian if you see something online that you know is wrong or that makes you feel uncomfortable.
Don't respond to messages that make you feel uncomfortable or uneasy.
Never give out a credit card number or password online.
Never send out your picture without your parents' permission.
Be careful when someone offers you something, such as gifts or money.
Don't ever accept a gift or an offer that involves having someone visit your house or you visit their house.
Never arrange to meet someone you've met online in person unless you discuss it with your parents and an adult goes with you.
Talk to your parents to set up rules for going online. Decide with them the best time of day to be online, the length of time to be online, and appropriate areas to visit.
Get to know your "online friends" just as you get to know all of your other friends. Be sure that you are dealing with someone that you and your parents know and trust before giving out any personal information about yourself via email.

Here is my tip to add only because of a current issue I ran into.
If you have programs installed on your computer, and they require a registration code to install them be sure to safe guard yourself(and save yourself money) I recommend after you get your computer setup as you like you go to this website http://belarc.com/free_download.html . They will download you a complete list of all your progams, drivers etc you have on your computer, including all your registration codes. After doing it PRINT IT OUT! I love this feature because when you have to do a windows reinstall for any reason and then find you have lost a programs registration number, you just look at your printout and then you won't have to rebuy the software (like I just did because I couldn't find my list, until now, after rebuying photoshop LOL).
So that would be step two, remember where you put your print out.

Don't open HTML emails for those you don't know.
If you don't know the difference between plain text and HTML emails, learn or get off the internet. :D
Don't download attachments from people you don't know
Don't download files from non-trustworthy sites.
Do keep windows (or your OS) fully patched and updated
Do keep your anti-virus definitions up to day.
