Here's a practical way to show off small collectibles such as plastic critters, beads, or shells.
CRAFT MATERIALS:http://familyfun.go.com/Resources/familyfun2005/images/COMMON/bullet_small.gifSeveral 3-inch round storage tins with tight-fitting lids (found at Michael's in the scrapbooking section) http://familyfun.go.com/Resources/familyfun2005/images/COMMON/bullet_small.gifGorilla Glue http://familyfun.go.com/Resources/familyfun2005/images/COMMON/bullet_small.gif3/4-inch round magnet http://familyfun.go.com/Resources/familyfun2005/images/COMMON/bullet_small.gifPizza pan http://familyfun.go.com/Resources/familyfun2005/images/COMMON/bullet_small.gifTwo 1 1/2-inch screws http://familyfun.go.com/Resources/familyfun2005/images/COMMON/bullet_small.gifTwo 1/2-inch washers http://familyfun.go.com/Resources/familyfun2005/images/COMMON/bullet_small.gifPower drill
Time needed: About 1 to 2 Hours
1. Use the Gorilla Glue to attach the round magnet to the bottom of each container. Let it dry.
2. Hang the pizza pan on a wall at a height your child can reach. We suggest drilling into a wall stud. If your pizza pan has only one hole to slip a screw through, simply drill another (drill front to back).
3. Finally, have your child fill the tins and arrange them on the pizza pan frame.
Tip: If your pizza pan has only one hole to slip a screw through, simply drill another (drill front to back). Finally, have your child fill the tins and arrange them on the pizza pan frame.
