Do you have backups of your web site and databases?

If yes, are you sure? ;) (tested recently)

I do have all my websites backed up but NOT my databases, mostly because I'm lazy. I know this is a big risk but I typically don't start backing things up until after I have a problem. Not the smartest thing to do, but its just how stubborn or ignorant I am I guess LOL

I pay for backups, but don't have them configured. Oops :)

I have local copies of everything, and those are backed up locally & remotely.

My host does daily backups, I do weekly backups which I download to my desktop.

Ouch. Not a good sign when you have to ask if your clients have better backups than you. This is why there have not been any new arcade games (http://www.discussny.com/arcade.php?) for a while. We have three sets of backups. Two on disk (one on mirrored disks, the other ona spare in case the mirtror blows up), and tape backups too! :D

We would like to apologise for the recent downtime to all members of ibpArcade Downloads and all those hosted with us at Ultimate Forum Hosting. Due to technical difficulties with our server we are having to attempt to recover all user data, files and databases belonging to each site hosted with us. We sincerely apologise for these problems and they were completely out of our control. We are working around the clock to try and get everything sorted.

All those hosted with us could you please contact me (Leon) on my google mail account: {removed} Please state your name, paypal email address and whether or not you have a full backup of your site and if so how recent.

For all those members of ibpArcade Downloads in way of an apology we shall be firstly increasing peoples subscription time to compensate for this downtime. We will also have a special offer on game downloads as way of an apology. I will keep you all posted of the situation.
Apologies,

Leon Young

I usually backup my sites at least once a week with a full backup. Databases are included in this.

4 months later, and I just configured my server backups! Yeah for me! :yay:

I decided to check on my backups last night. I had them all configured, but not turned on. Ooops! Well, checked this AM & they're working wonderfully. I gotta say, Plesk + GoDaddy (http://www.kqzyfj.com/click-1166219-10378406) dedicated hosting = very easy backups. I avoided setting them up because I thought it'd be difficult, but it's MUCH easier than expected. Maybe I'll write a tutorial on it...
