Wow it sure is refreshing to see a parent that doesn't feel the need to control and run every aspect of their children's lives. Bravo to you!

actually what i felt was a little left out, i still want to be needed :) then i just sat back & thought about what it was like when i was a young mother, you just have to do it, my daughter is very strong willed & very independent :) i am so proud of her, i'm sure they'll need something & i'll be right here to help, not takeover :)
now my boys, that's a totally different thing (we won't go there lol)

It's nice to see that you could sit back and think about it and realize that you weren't being left out. It was more of their need to bond with the baby without all kinds of people coming and going as they pleased. (of course you being the Grandmother, you aren't all kinds of people but you know what I mean) When my oldest was born, I tried that and had people mad at me and then ultimately ignored the request. (asked to not have people in and out a lot the first week) As far as needing you, don't worry they won't want to be shackled at home without any alone time forever. ;)

i figure it's better to give them what they need rather than satisfying my desire to be needed, i've been there so i understand, how does a person grow w/o being allowed to :)
i think ppl got mad at you because of their own insecurities (being needed) we can learn from those past experiences & have learned :) now it's our kids turn :) we won't be here forever :)
