hi! this is the thread where you can give out recipes that are Fun,Kooky and Fast I am the first person to give out a recipe. btw, if you make the recipe with someone else, ask them if it is OK to put it on the site and write down the names of people that helped you out with it. give out some credit. If you are asking about the phrases, Rachel Ray probably said it but i can bet you Bobby Flay DID NOT say that. but he also could have said "I love cooking" And the quotes from me and my sis, they are true. here is my recipe!
Tropical Breeze Freeze
To have a perfect Tropical Breeze Freeze Get this stuff:

6. Ice Cubes ( At least 2 for each person you serve ) How To Make
Cut open one end of each Wax Stick in the packet and pour the juice in a cup. you can chew the Wax. Add the Water and mix. Next add the Capri-Sun and the No-Pulp Orange Juice. DO NOT MIX. Then add the 3 Ounces of Mountin Dew and the 3 ounces of the Juicy Red Hawiian Punch. Add the Ice Cubes and Enjoy! Cinnamon Toast
My cinnamon toast is not crazy or kooky, but it is fast and good. :)
Make your cinnamon sugar mix. I use a 3-1 mix with 3 parts sugar and 1 part cinnamon.
Make as much mix as you want. You can store the extra for next time.
Butter your favorite kind of bread and toast it.
When it's done toasting coat the toast with the cinnamon sugar mix.
I shake the excess cinnamon sugar off back into the container. (:hide:)
Enjoy!

here's one that is neither kooky nor fast, but reasonably easy. I really only cook a total of 2-3 times a year, so when I do, I try to make it count (excluding grilling, and breakfast foods). My fiance's (thirtieth) birthday was the 1st. I wanted to make her a nice dinner, and she's been bugging me to take her to a nice steak house I can't afford with the upcoming wedding anyhow.
Grocery list:
Two Fillet Mignon cut steaks
1 package bacon (not low fat, but eye-ball, pick out the least fatty "regular or thick cut"
potatoes
sour cream
butter
milk
salad,
french bread
garlic (fresh)
garlic salt
kitchen / cooking twine
Step one, prep.:
begin boiling nice size pot of water, add one small dash of salt. Turn grill on lowest setting, preheat oven to 400ish. Next melt about half a cup of butter, mix in finely chopped fresh garlic (two little bulb thingies), two slight pinches of garlic salt, a healthy dose of oregano. Slice french bread in half length wise, paint the inside with butter mix, discard or save remainder of butter. Wrap bread in tin foil. Take steak out of fridge, (make sure bacon is defrosted if you froze it) open and place on plate. Begin wrapping steaks in bacon. Use enough bacon to get at least one full layer around each steak. Use kitchen twine to hold the bacon on the steak (cut off excess twine). Peal potatoes, cut to about 1 - 1 1/4" cubes and begin dropping them in the water.
Step two, cook:
Here's the deal, everything takes about 35-45 mins to cook. IF you preheat everything together and start cooking everything at the same time, it will all be done just about together.
1. throw the bread in the oven on a cookie sheet (you already threw the potatoes in the water at the end of step one.
2. Verify grill is on the lowest setting, drop steaks on it.
3. open beer (MOST important step, sorry kids, you can't make this meal correctly if you're not old enough to drink).
4. give the steak around 18-22 mins on side one. Don't flip too often, the bacon's hold will be tenuous at best, and will weaken even more with excess flipping. Take this time to enjoy beer and pride for doing something special for your loved one. Begin staging milk, sour cream, and little margerine or butter for potatoes.
5. Begin to make salad.
6. Enough time has passed, go flip your steaks (second side should be about 2-5 mins less than the first side cooked for).
7. finish salad, cover put away for dinner
8. Check potatoes, they should be about done if you cut them small enough in step 1.
9. Mash potatoes, mix in sour cream, milk, and butter to taste.
Step Three.:
1. Retreive steaks, cut and remove twine.
2. retrieve bread and slice
3. Set table while things are cooling
4. Open bottle of wine (my fiance' doesn't really drink, so I subbed another beer for the wine, worked out almost as well)
5. put everything on the table and enjoy with your signifant other.
When I made this last week I was a little pressed for time, and cheated with a store bought frozen garlic bread, not nearly as good but it does save about 10 minutes of prep time. Also, it should be reported I used 12oz. steaks. These were way too big, we each ate about half of one, and had enough mashed pots and bread that we didn't even get to the salad.
prep time = 20-45 mins
cook time = about 45mins
Total time 60-90 mins, took me about 70 for the above.

P.S. The garlic "thingies" you are talking about are cloves. You use two cloves of garlic in your recipe. Two bulbs would be two ENTIRE bulbs of garlic. I am sure that is not what you meant. Unless you want trainwreck breath for weeks. :D
