He is resigning.

Really? I didn't read that...

He declined to take questions and promised to report back soon. As he went to leave, three reporters screamed out, "Are you resigning? Are you resigning?" and Spitzer charged out of the room, slamming the door.

Mike heard it on the radio news.

I was watching CNN & reading here & there online but never saw anything about him resigning. I'm not saying you, or Mike, are wrong - maybe just a wild rumor (although a logical connection).

Too bad - I like Spitzer

The statement that he made on TV indicated he would not resign. He indicated he wanted to rebuild trust.

Seems alot of news channels misreported him resigning. I think he'll fight for awhile to save himself but I'm not sure he'll be able too.

I think the most ridiculous is that these guys mess around and then when they go to announce it they make their poor wives stand next to them like "there ok" with all this to save his career. Please, There is no way I would stand by my man during that. Working out our relationship is one thing but at that point, you know she barely had time to let this all soak in. Give me a break!

And have you ever noticed they are holding their wives hands so tight they are probably cutting off the circulation. :fryingpan:

He has not resigned yet. I think he is trying to hold on to his job as a bargaining point. I think he will resign in exchange for no prison time. If he is convicted of every crime he is accused of committing he could get up to 30 years in Federal prison in addition to many years for the State laws he allegedly violated.
If he does not resign in the next 48 hours the Assembly leader said will ask the Speaker to begin the impeachment process.

I for one welcome a government sex scandal that doesn't involve senators and male interns or men's room tap dancing. So, on that account.. Go Spitzer!

Other than that, he's your typical slimball politician the only thing that really irks me with him is the whole reason he was elected was his moral high ground..

Sometimes you just think you know someone. I feel for his wife and kids.

Me too. And why do alot of these wives stay with them. Do they bribe them, force them or what. I don't get the concept.

They have careers too.

Hillary Clinton can run for President.

Bill Clinton's ex-wife, not so much.

Hillary I can understand, they are using each other I suppose. Not that I don't like Hillary. I just don't like cheating, lieing, etc.
