places to live in rochester, ny?

Anyone know what the good areas of rochester are and what areas of rochester have a lot of crime. i am looking to find an area outside of rochester somewhere near st john fisher in pittsford, ny where apartments are reasonably prices and still live in a good area with a lot of local places in walking distance for a job

Most of the crime is in the city. Find a job first then try to find a place to live that is in walking distance. Pittsford is not cheap compared to other towns in Monroe county and they don't have hardly any apartments there anyway.

I grew up in Pittsford, and loved it. I would say look into an apartment either in the Park Ave. district or look into Monroe ave, or near it in Brighton for apartments.

I lived in the Cornhill area in the city. Loved the townhouse I had there, but It think the crime was close. We had our car broken into once there. Loved the place though, not sure what rent was.
