I'm wondering if it's a good idea to shift the focus of the site slightly and change it from "A site to talk about new york" from "A site for anyone preferably from new york to talk".
What do you think?

I'm all for the second choice.. It gives you a wider audience. :)

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.
Also, I added a critical missing word in the original post. ;)

OK, I think this is all set.
The general forums are generic now, and I cleaned up the welcome headers and site description.
Yeah, this makes so much more sense now. :fryingpan:

Are there any topics that we are interested in and would like added to the general discussion section?

I think renaming off topic to potpourri was a fabulous idea. :p Very creative. Genius in fact.
Off topic sounds so generic. Most forums use that. It's nice to see a creative spin on it. I was told that in one of the football forums they call their off topic free for all. I thought that was pretty creative as well.

Sounds right to me! I added you banner to my ad rotator to try to get more people here, not the best site for it, but if nothing else it will be a link LOL! Ok so I really want to get my referal number up...I'm selfish!

Please pardon the dust as I rearrange things. I've been tinkering a lot this past month with keywords, new links, page layouts, and this past week started some google adwords and offline advertising campaigns too. I'm also considering launching a new contest soon, but working on what criteria will determine the winner. It's likely going to be more complicated than the last contest and have point for posts, threads, referrals that create X posts, bonus points for pictures and threads in the regional forums, etc. :D
