Hello,

I'm not one of those that sets an upper bound on profits and usually let my winners ride, but now and then I think it's good to skim off some of the profits to invest in something else. What's your largest individual holding? Do you have a reason for letting it run and not locking in some of the profits? My current best performer that I have not pulled back on is ISRG (http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=ISRG&t=1y).

Well, until a few minutes ago I was holding a lot of OXPS. They were > 10% of my entire IRA. My biggest one now is 8%, which is a lot considering I'm only 2/3 into it (with still another 1/3 to go, that'll put me at about 12% if I buy again).

It's good to have an exit point on a stock. Mine is 33%, including dividends & commissions. My formula is outlined at my website (http://www.netnagel.com/2007/10/investing-strategy.html).
