Wow, its starting ou atleast a a beautiful day here so now I need to figure out what I should do on this amazing day? I can clean up the yard, theirs tons of tree limbs down from the winter this year for some reason. Rake the leaves that I never did before winter, not all that fun, my yard is big. Mowing the lawn is out because the lawnmower is broke now. I tried starting it last weekend, after checking the oil since I just took it out of the shed from the winter. Well, the darn oil pan appears to have a hole in it and when we went to start i now acts like we probably seized the whole engine, great!

So we're down to either fixing that lawnmower which will obviously need major repairs if it reall seized,or fixing the rider which needs a minor repair not sure what it was though. Luckily my husband friend fixes lawn mowers so labor will be cheap either way. The worst part is I live in one of the neighborhoods where people are very particular about their lawns and always wneed them to look perfect, so their all mowed and bushes trimmed while my lawn is getting WAY too high.

Have you all mowed your lawns already?

I've done the backyard about 4 times (including today before the rain moved in). The front has only been done once - it doesn't grow very well. I need to really work on it, including weed & feed, reseeding, etc. But I don't have the energy to care that much about it these days. Maybe once I retire ;)

Well now your rain is looking like its closing down on me! I ended up raking up some areas of the backyard an made the kids straightened out the hos and re-wrap it on our holder which was a PITA but atleast its done! Still no lawnmower to use sadly, we did reseed some of our front yard like a week ago which is finally starting to sprout thankfully. I worried since it snowed one day, then totally flooded a couple days, I figured it would never grow.

I was going to mow the yard for the 3rd or 4th time today, but ended up cleaning out the garage, picking up some of the house, and having some leftover microwave smores. :D

Just let the goat (or donkey) out. He should earn his keep anyhow. :laughing6:

Or wait until you neighbors come and mow it for you like in my case. How embarrassing! I better get my mower back from the repair shop soon!

I have to ask, what kind of neighbors you have, nice neighbors or neighbors so anal that they want your grass looking like theirs. JK.

Both! I'm not really sure how to take it. This one in particular we always help each other out but they are all very anal about their yards here. He only did my front yard and said the backyard is too much for him (we have a double lot so it goes back quite aways) Now I hear everyday since he did it "Are you ready to mow the back? I'll start my mower for you!" This is an 80-something year old, who just ended chemo, keep in mind. My neighbors always feel bad for me because my husband works away all week long and we only see ach other on weekends. The thing they fail to remember is that no matter where we've lived, we've always lived like this rarely seeing each other so I am quite used to being a 'single mom' during the week.

I am just as annoyed looking at my backyard though, it is WAY long, I hope to get to mow it today. Would've taken him up on using his mower but I had too much work not enough time this past week.

lol if my neighbor started mowing my lawn, I'd go out and offer him a beer then go back to doing what I was doing like I didn't even know he was there. :laughing6:

I'm bad, I know. :fryingpan: :hide:

I know I'm crazy to be annoyed but I hate asking for help from others or getting help. Its one of my many annoying triats!

I hate nosy annoying neighbors. Which is why we are not "tract" people. We are what you would call snowbrush neighbors. A nice friendly wave with the snowbrush now and then is fine with us. Stay in your yard, we'll stay in ours. We used to live on a dead end street with a bunch of moms who would gather and gossip at the bus stop. Needless to say I did not "fit in". This is the same street where someone hit our dog right in front of our house and killed it and could not have the decency to tell us even though they all knew it was our dog.

^OMG that is awful! Whop hits an animal and doesn't take responsibility, even if it was truly an accident.
Today's plan in my head are way too extensive, too much to do on a Monday which is never good! I want to rearrange my daughters room, which I've wanted to do for months. Got to go run to 2 hospitals to pick up copies of xrays, finally getting my in-laws to give me a spare lawnmower so I can mow my back lawn which is starting to represent a field. Plus I should work somewhere in there LOL!

I don't get along with any of my neighbors. Across the street is a total psychopath disaster. The one uphill from me hates me because I used to have poker games and people got loud (myself included) odd hours of the night. He blamed us too for tire tracks on his yard in the winter. Guess what, they're still there, it's the plows tearing up your yard jackass. Everyone else are newer neighbors who I never bothered to meet. I have the friendly wave to the new downhill neighbors while snow blowing the driveway.

It's their mom that calls the cops. I'm told the dad just does what he is told.

A few weeks ago they would have been calling the cops on their sons and houseguests.:innocent: I wonder how they liked the screech marks out front and the tire tracks in their yard from that. I found it pretty funny since they think you were so bad.

This is the first place I've lived that I am actually pretty social with my neighbors. I never thought I was the neighborly-type but apparently I am LOL Perhaps now my neighbors will like me more too because I finally mowed my lawn today although the thing kept trying to stall the hole time because the grass was so high :-)
