what spider is this it's white and about the size of a quarter?

I wish I had a picture but I squished him before I thought of it. i usually don't squish spiders but this one you could see the fangs on him and he was near my baby. It was about the size of a quarter and I have seen bigegr ones. I just moved into my new place, and have since killed about 4 of them. I wouldn't normally worry but I've never seen spiders like that before. If it helps I live int he Adirondacks of New York State. I'm not sure what spiders are commonly found here. If anyone can show pictures too that would awesome!
it's almost like a beige color as well with a white spot on it's abdomen

It's hard to tell without a picture. try this site: http://www.spiderzrule.com/spiderphotos.htm scroll down and look under pictures of wolf spiders first because thats probably what it is. if not, try unidentified. =}
