What is the quality of living in Rochester? What is the weather like? What do people do for fun? What kind of things go on? How many people live there, what kind of people live there, and does it feel big, small or somewhere in between? Do people like it or hate it? Is it an enjoyable place? Are people familiar with it as a city? Is it just a nowhere town in New York State? How do people get around? Are there parks and recreational areas? How civilian friendly is it? Have you been there, do you live there or are you familar with it, and what's your opinion about Rochester? What's it like up there?

What is the quality of living in Rochester? Like any city, it depends on which town you live in.

What is the weather like? Like Buffalo New York, but more cloudy days since there is weather from both Lake Erie and Lake Ontario.

What do people do for fun? Depends what they like to do. I like hiking and camping.

What kind of things go on? There are lots of festivals. Quite possibly one going on somewhere every weekend.

How many people live there, what kind of people live there, and does it feel big, small or somewhere in between? Here is the Rochester Community Profile (http://www.ci.rochester.ny.us/index.cfm?id=338) page.

Do people like it or hate it? Is it an enjoyable place? Depends on the people. some people are just perpetually fritzed out. ;)

Are people familiar with it as a city? Is it just a nowhere town in New York State? It's a known city that people have heard of.

People from New York City are sometimes confused about how far away we are.

Always fun to hear the stories about driving to Buffalo from New York City after lunch and going back to the city for dinner. :laughing6:

How do people get around? Car, bus, bike, walk, run, and the ones with special powers can fly.

You can tell who those people are because they have bright red capes.

Are there parks and recreational areas? Yes.

How civilian friendly is it? Have you been there, do you live there or are you familiar with it, and what's your opinion about Rochester? What's it like up there?I live here. The people in Buffalo are friendlier.

I grew up there . . . Rochester people are is waaay better than those stupid buffalo people :). In all seriousness, I always thought the downtown (and East End / Park Ave district) of the city was cleaner and friendlier than nearly any other city.

LOL - ESPECIALLY Buffalo!

I live here. The people in Buffalo are friendlier.

Atlanta is the cleanest city. It is safe to lick the street there.

BTW, are you insane?

Buffalo is by far the better city compared to Rochester! :rockernana:

The people in the south are generally friendlier than in the north.
The people in Rochester and Buffalo are about the same.

I think everyone who lives in Rochester is nicer than those who live in Buffalo, with the exception of one particular bald-headed *Nix engineer . . . He's not very nice regardless of where he lives :)

Actually, what I noticed about the South vs. the North (my folks live in north Florida which is about as backwoods and hick as you get . . . some parts make Avon seem urban): In the North people will simply tell you they don't like you or what you are doing etc. In the South, there seems to be some insane belief that people must be appeased and so everyone is very nice and polite -> just until they think you're out of earshot. Personally, I think its worse. My Pop lives in a town so small that after nearly 10 years, he's still "the new guy in town." Furthermore in all seriousness: I grew up in a very snobby suburb of Roch. I had NEVER been exposed to such rampant bigotry and prejudice like I've seen in th south.
