I've always gotten a kick out of this tool (http://www.dnscoop.com/).
I notice DiscussNY is up to a PR3 now.
What are your sites "worth" ? :laughing6:
The estimated value of http://discussny.com is: $26,574
This value is calculated based on several factors shown above, including: Links, Traffic (Alexa), age of the domain, site category, domain keyword popularity, and overall occurrences of the domain name on the web.

Wow, considering the price of investment of in purchasing a vbulletin license, and paying for the server that is pretty darn good. How long has this site been around?

Vbull isn't very expensive. Neither is the server. I think what it says DNY is worth is skewed (not by popowich I mean the ones that estimate its worth) but we love it anyway.

Yeah I think the values are overrated, it is not necessarily what the site makes, it is only in relation to links, hits, etc. So the value is very overrated, but it does allow one (the owner) to gage what the value could be if they decided to use the site to generate money.

It is not for the money. Just for the fun. It doesn't matter if it's worth $1.00 or $100,000.00

I am confused, Did you mean the thread was just for fun? If so, I realized that. I was just stating that the linked website that popowich had could at least give you an idea of the potential a site has to generate money.

I think he was just showing a link that was interesting. I doubt he would ever sell this website, it is like selling your kid. This is his baby. You can't put a price on your kid.

They are all overrated but fun to dream that something you created could possibly be worth that much already. Especially since its a pretty new site, I mean it had a previous owner but he never really developed it. Lighten up Shaggy or I'll :violent5: :muahaha:

This took a lot of work. I think you hit a home run here and I hope it helps feather your nests!

Well there might be a custody battle because the funny thing is I always refer to this site as my baby. :)

At least I got my point across and explained it well.
