I am plant illiterate to the point of being ridiculous. I water weeds and plants because I don't know the difference. When they are first coming up, I have no clue what they are. Once they are flowering...hey if they have a flower, how could they possibly be a weed????

Help!! Does anyone on here know a ton about planting flowers outside and caring for them? Someone willing to do a Q&A type thread on this subject?

OR do you know someone that does and would like to join the forum and answer questions for the dummys? Don't forget to make sure they use you as a referral. :)

I only have a green thumb when I stick my thumb in bird poop when clean bird cages.

I started my plants indoors, so when I moved them outside, it was easy to tell what was a weed and what's a plant that I wanted. Are you planting anything, or just seeing what comes up?

There's always wildflower mix, which is really a bunch of flowing weeds. Make sure to get a blend that's native to your area for best results.

I bought a box of wildflower mix and planted it on Memorial Day. The box said it would cover 750 square feet! I used it around the lamp post out front. There were millions of teeny tiny seeds in that box. I wasn't sure how much to use so I just sprinkled them around good and covered them a little. I have been watering them. Things are beginning to grow now. Since they are a bunch of flowering weeds, I guess I should be fine. :p I will take a pic when and if I get any actual flowers. (emphasis on if) Are they pretty fool proof? That's what I need.

The wildflowers are pretty simple, but typically the flowering ones are harder to get to grow than the non-flowering plants.

Well that figures. The seeds I planted are supposed to get flowers. This should be interesting.
