Kitten heels - New York City - high heels need help!?

I work in NYC, in midtown. Alot of girls I work with wear Jessica Simpson style high heels. I love all those shoes but I was a tomboy growing up and now i'm in my 20s and I can't walk in those type of shoes. One time I wore a pair of 3in. heels and honestly I feel in the subway. NYC just moves too fast on the street for me to dress up and wear those shoes. So i'm forced to wear "kitten heels" or flats everyday! I feel stupid - is that acceptable or not? How do girls learn to walk in high heels like they're sneakers? Can I do it?

You can use flats to go back and forth to work and keep a pair of heels at work. Make sure they are not too high until you get used to them.

Don't feel stupid!! I learned how to walk in my heels by rearranging my house in them. Of course you can do it!! Practice makes almost perfect!!

Here's what I would do:

Wear a pair of heels around your house all day, and just practice walking in them. After awhile I'm sure you'll get used to them... :D

i laugh when i see women wearing high-heels. they are SO stupid, and they serve no purpose. what happens if you have to run for something, or walk across a bumpy surface?
The purpose of shoes is to make walking easier, not more difficult.

Have some common sense and just don't wear them.

I remember the time when my sister wanted to wear high heels. She was falling down everywhere so I know how you must feel.
I guess you should buy a pair of those Jessica Simpson heels yourself, and practice walking in them in your house/apartment. Good Luck
