Not sure if anyone outside this region has heard this story but kind of interesting I think. This is my kids school district. Basically a group of students (current and former) have been arrested for hacking into the school computer and changing grades. I'm not sure who is to blame really though, the kids being idiots our the schools here putting too much pressure on the kids to remain nationally ranked as one of the best schools.

Here's the link to the story: http://www.news10now.com/content/top_stories/default.asp?ArID=125747

What do you think of your schools? Is the pressure extreme or just as it should be on your kids?

I'd be interested to hear the outcome of what happens to the kids.

Were the changed grades used for anything like college applications?

If there is a follow-up articles please let us know, thanks!

Back when I was in elementary school some of the seniors got into the computer grading system. The system was really old and a joke. Somehow one of them figured out that the passwords were the last 6 digits of the teacher's social security number. All they had to do is get a glance at a teacher's pay stub on pay day and they got access to the system.

None of them graduated on time. I believe all 3 had to repeat their senior year. I wonder what would happened to day.. They'd probably wind up in jail.

So far here 5 have been indicted on charges around the hacking, one who was already off to college I think will report this weekend for his indictment/charges. In this school district I bet they'll end up with a nice hefty donation to a new building project and the kids will get a slap on the wrist, but we'll see.
