Kaos,

I went to school in Albany too. Which bars? I remember frequenting the typical SUNY bars: the (Town) Tavern, Peabody's, Oasis, the Long Branch, WT's (Washington Tavern) I'm sure there are others. I don't remember anyone of my group ever having much of a problem with bouncers unchalking our licenses, but most of us wore letters and went to "greek friendly" bars.

Yeah well, I wasn't Greek. I went to those same bars...odd, we may know each other LOL I also went to hole in the wall bars that ACP went to like Ralph's, Elbow room, Casey's, Lark Tavern, a ton of Gay Bars (man they were fun!) and lived next to the one that I always forget the name of.....corner of Western and New Scotland(not even sure of that), Wow, can't believe I can't think of it, guess I did have too much fun in college!

Downtown we're the wipers though

The LampPost! Thats what I used to live next to LOL Just happy I finally remembered it. Ironically, we rarely went there accept on St. Pat's Day rounds. Man was that crazy days in Albany. So what college did you go to Yukon? and better yet when? I graduated HS in'92, went to St. Rose and Sage from '92-94, I liked changing colleges alot LOL

we probably just missed each other. I graduated HS '95. Did my freshman year 95-96 At SunyA. Our old frat house was 301 Quail, well within walking distance to all the above mentioned bars. Yes, the old Lampost was popular alternative, and that St. Rose bar ... I think it was Michael's a couple of doors downj from the Pizza Hut on Madison. Also used to go to Bogey's and a few others. Up until about 4 years ago (when I moved to NJ) I used to go back a few times a year to see friends, visit WT's etc.

The 'Post . . . remember Mild Wally's? Paesano's was better but Wally's would also deliver smokes with your pizza at 3am, and occasionally if you could the guy into doing it a 6er too :).

OMG! This is freaking weird, and I swear to God I'm telling you the truth. I live right below 301 Quail in the dungeon (as we called it) with the bar and one tiny bedroom! I used to party with the boys upstairs occasionally, but more importantly, I taught them how to throw parties LOL!

This is too funny! Now I have to go look at your picture LOL I moved out of there in 95 so we probably did just miss each other, literally.

I thought Mild Wally's only delivered smokes to us all these years!

seriously? That's INSANE! Upstairs was my fraternity house, up until a year or two ago. I think brothers of Alpha Chi Rho rented that house from about 92 or 93 until 2005ish. Yes, the basement was a separate apartment. Usually another brother lived there, but on odd semesters other people did too. Hell, I lived in that apartment from sep-dec 2000, until I finally got a *real job* and moved back to Rochester. I started @ Choice One on 2-Jan-01, and paid rent on that damned basement until like Feb or March when I finally found an apartment in Brighton to move to.

That's freaking hysterical. I am still friends with some of the guys who lived in the house at the time you were living there. We get together every month or two depending on the season and what's going on. PM me for IM info, we can trade some names.

I'm still freaking. I mean I know its a NY forum but I never expected to find someone like this, that lived in the same tiny apartment...and that shower, I mean seriously, could it have been smaller?

Not sure I left your brothers on the best terms. Lets just say that, and don't believe any stories you've heard about the crazy downstairs tenant LOL j/k Oh the stories!

Wow, I was just trying to remember the names of the guys that lived up there and I can only remember Dave, Jason and guitar guy LOL I always suck with names.

Dave = Spud, big fat Filipino guy, looked like potato. Guitar guy, Alex = Pico, actually a Russian Jew but he had a half grown in mustache that made him look Latino. Jason = McFly, (think back to the future) name says it all. There were a few a few more that lived there around that time too: Noel and Greg, I think possibly lived there around that time too.

My friend had a thing for Dave, McFly...long story. Pico used to have this hilarious McFly song though. Noel was quiet type. I think I was a little too crazy for his taste.

I love going down memory lane...can you tell? :offtopic: :ohthedrama: :bs:

yeah, like going down that path on occasion too. It reminds me of many things, some good some bad, mostly lessons for the present though. :).

You'll have to tell me online later the "long story." And for the record, no I only remember one story about the crazy chick downstairs and it certainly is not a bad one. . . I don't remember anyone speaking ill of "the crazy chick downstairs." There was talk a few times though about "who would be wierd enough to actually WANT to live under a frat house?"

Well, I honestly wasn't told it was a frat house above me. I went looking for a apartment and the landlord told me some bos lived upstairs and left it at that. But, you know as soon as I saw that bar, I was sold because who didn't want there own bar in college? But that place used to flood during the rain. That totally sucked!

I can't wait to here what was said about me. I'll IM you soon!
Sorry guys, I think we totally hijacked this thread, you'll have to separte it out from what ever the topic of this thread was LOL!

On side note: Remember the stupid shelf that went all along the perimeter of that apt.? From the bar all the way to the front door, and then the mantle on the other side? Well, shortly after I moved in some idiot friend and I decided it would be a good idea to see if we could fill it with different types of emtpy beer bottles. I'm prod to say that by the time I moved out a few months later we had that shelf TWO DEEP with empty bottles having never repeated a specific bottle. I got to tell you though, it began to get difficult finding unique six packs toward the end . . .

Also a fun fact: Brother who lived in that apartment at different times include me, Rob (you wouldn't know him, we pledged together in '95), Noel, and I think my big brother Larry.

I think Noel moved in when I moved out actually, if I remember correctly. Did you ever meet that landlord? He hated me. He charged me a ton for 'damages' after moving out and the only real damage I did was hang a dart board next to the door on the wood panelling and well, I typically played darts after a few too many beers so there were a ton of holes in the wall. Maybe you saw them LOL

Thats impressive to fill the beer bottles. That shelf was long!

That landlord guy hated everyone, he was nothing more than a slum lord. I remember him trying the same crap with me, but I was breaking the lease anyhow and told him to take out of my deposit (of which I never did get anything back). I learned a few years later that moron brothers living in the house at the time broke the lock on the basement door from the kitchen and had thrown a jello wrestling party down there. LMAO, apparently that jerk landlord finally admitted the carpet needed to be replaced :)

I thought Noel moved down there spring semester '96 and he was the first brother to have lived in that apt. for a long time. I was nearly positive he lived in the larger of the two small rooms on the 3rd floor when I pledged (fall '95).
