A petition has been formed to help encourage Sen. Hillary Clinton run as an independent on the up coming vote. I personally have always been a Hillary fan and will never vote for Obama. But even that isn't the full extent of why she should run. Our country is in dire need of a 3 party system and this could help get that intack.
I encourage anyone who believes in Hillary, or in the lack of the three party system to go and sign the petition now.

If Hilary runs Independent, McCain will win hands-down. She's not dumb enough to split the democrats like that.

Someone has to do it. We can't ever think Nader's never ending 3rd party attempts are ever going to get us a third party. In my opinion, I'd rather have McCain over Obama anyway though.

Not me, McCains smile even looks evil. We need a dem in there. But, I don't put much faith in politicians. Do they really look out for us. They are looking out for big businesses and the rich man.

Personally, most people I talk to are ,shall we say, less then thrilled with any choices we have this presidential election. The more I think about our countries standing, the angrier I get. How can we truly call this country democratic, when we have merely 2 choices to consider? Most true democratic countries have multiple parties to decide from, except us.
As I see it we have two choices on this issue, continue to vote "the lesser of two evils" every election, or start taking a stand and get more party choices in there, on the ticket that mean something. I have alot of respect for those in the 60's and 70's that stood up for their beliefs, that were willing to challenge there government, and not just sit back and complain. I think our country has gotten lazy and therefore the government is allowed to get away with anything they want because we never stand up and say 'Enough is Enough!"
Who are we to rely on, the media? Please, they were supposed to be our watchdogs and keep the government in check yet they refuse to ask the real questions to any politician, or allow lame half responses. They never challenge status quo anymore.
So How do we want to be remembered? as the generations that just sat back and let our country truly self-implode? Like I said, I may be a Hillary supporter, but it really has nothing to do with this. The bottom line is we need a true choice, a true representation of the citizens of this country and a meager 2 party system will never allow that to happen.
(wow, what the heck is in my coffee this morning?)

Well, as I remember from US Government, we really don't have a democracy here in the US. We have a Republic.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands.
Not to the democracy for which it stands.
A republic is a state or country that is not led by a hereditary monarch, but in which the people (or at least a part of its people) have impact on its government.
In the example of the United States, the original 13 British colonies became independent states after the American Revolution, each having a republican form of government. These independent states initially formed a loose confederation called the United States and then later formed the current United States by ratifying the current U.S. Constitution, creating a union of sovereign states with the union or federal government also being a republic. States joining the union later were also required to be a republic.

I don't know if that's even the point to this post. Really, all Republicans (by that, I mean those that support McCain) should encourage Hillary to run on the Independent ticket and he'll be guaranteed to win. However, any Democrat (who supported Obama or Clinton) should be opposed to the idea. The Democratic Party needs to unite against McCain.
I thought for sure Bush would not be elected for his 2nd term but was shocked by the results. While I'm confident we need a Democrat in office, I'm not taking it for granted this time around. McCain has a strong shot at winning, especially if Clinton runs Independent. However, since she's campaigning with Obama, she's not going to leave the Democratic Party.

True, but Bush and all politicians actually feel this is a democratic society, and apparently that all countries should be democratic like us.
I don't know if that's even the point to this post.
Absolutely thats the point of this post. We need to have a third party, thats my point. As I said, for Hillary or not we need to have atleast a 3 party system in our country

sadly its true, way too many people vote purely party line these days, versus looking at the real candidate. You say the Democratic party needs to unite, I say people of America need to unite for once. They need to stand up to all this crazy politics, but nothing seems to motivate anyone anymore. Gas goin to $4, people having low paying or no jobs, health care crisis and you know what happens..nothing but a bunch of people sitting at their tv complaining. God forbid anyone really stand up for ourselves anymore. The government is out of control and we do nothing!
However, since she's campaigning with Obama, she's not going to leave the Democratic Party.
Possibly true so that she can run again when the country is in total collapse. But her emails show different possibilities.

I agree 100%. With all the bickering that goes on, nothing will get done. The games the politicians play don't get us anywhere.
The one (yes - ONE - no more!) good thing I'll say about McCain...
Sen. McCain offers $300 million prize for new auto battery (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080623/ap_on_el_pr/mccain_energy;_ylt=AvCX66L2aGQCPfv.fZZ0DVYDW7oF)

Heh, I was just thinking how funny it'd be if Ford or GM, who are both suffering financially, step up and be like, "Oh, like this battery that we've hidden from the public for the past 25 years because of the financial kick-backs we receive from the big oil companies? Here you go... now where's our $300 million?"
BTW - $300 million is $1 for each man, woman & child in the US. I'll gladly send in a crisp $5 bill for my household.

I can totally see that...it would be like pharmaceutical companies who have been holding back the cure for cancers and AIDS because the reality is no money is to be made on a cure vs treating symptoms
