Hello,

The computer that I am on does not have working control buttons. Nether of them work. This is a PITA for me since the e-mail client that I use, and ctrl-T in web browsers, are common keystrokes for me. All of the other buttons are OK and there does not appear to be any physical damage. All signs indicate a software configuration that has the control buttons disabled or remapped to some other function that I'm not aware of. I checked the accessibility options but that does not appear to be the issue as none of them are turned on. How can I fix this? Thanks!

sounds like you are somehow using the wrong keyboard map . . . I forget how to look it up and change in windows, but it should be easy enough to google . . . Raven, care to do your thing?

It is a gateway keyboard with CD controls and a PS/2 connector.

The model is G99OOH (99% sure they are oh's and not zeros)

I searched for both...

Anyway, if anyone can locate XP Home drivers for it they are a smarter person than me. :)

Here's how oyu get to the key map in XP:

Windows XP

To switch your keyboard layout in Windows XP, follow these steps:

From the default XP Start Menu, select Control Panel, or from the classic Start Menu, select Settings, then Control Panel. Select Regional and Language Options.
Select the Languages tab, and then click Details... .
In the Text Services and Input Language window, highlight Keyboard, and then click Add... .
In the Add Input Language window, select the checkbox next to Keyboard layout/IME: , and then select United-States-Qwerty.

I don't have a QWERTY option. I'm on the basic U.S. option.

There are DVORAK's which are for some other more efficient kind of keyboard that I had not heard of before.

I did some googling there are some extended keyboards but they are also not what I am looking for.

Thanks for trying if you are out of ideas now.

I'm walking away at this point I think. :)

A company called MPC purchased Gateway.

MPC support says the keyboard is too old and is not supported by Windows XP.
