A new study (http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5g7oC17iEpBGsJE3SoF8vzC5ThXZwD91M6BCO1) suggests that attitude rather than availability may be the key reason why more Americans don't have high-speed Internet access.

Some residential users may not see a need for higher speeds because they don't know about or don't have ability to use high speedsI'd say the same is true for Tivo / DVRs and in-car GPS. If you don't have it, you don't know what you're missing. Once you do have it, you wonder how you ever lived without it.

What kind of connection do you have at home?

I have cable hookup right now. It has been ok as far as performance and only a few downtimes...but any downtime drives me nuts!

My parents still have dialup at their house.

My dad refuses to get the Adelphia / Time Warner cable modem because he worked for Verizon and would rather wait until Verizon DSL is available in their area.

It drives me nuts when I try to get on the internet while there for the holidays.

I've got Time Warner cable with Sprint broadband as my backup, which I rarely have to use. Verizon just got approved for FIOS in Kenmore; the lines are installed & now they're just waiting to get the TV approval before doing signups for the Internet service. Should be this fall (fingers crossed)

Ooops I picked DSL which is inaccurate. Ray will have to fix that later. The funny thing is, when I first got my pc, we had 3 months free of AOL dial up. Until you have a faster connection, you don't know the difference. I had no idea how fast it could be until I got dsl and I was like HOLY CHIT!!
