That sounds like me.
Back when we had a blizzard a few years ago I was walking down by the water to get some pictures.
I seen a Blue Heron with one leg frozen in the ice. I went in after it to get it free.
I took a picture of it after it was safe.
Everyone said why didn't you get a picture of it before you set it free.
I said, I was more worried about getting it out safely.
And at the time I was worried about getting it out without it pecking my eyes out. Those birds are almost as tall as me.

But it must of know I was there to help it because it didn't bother me, it let me put my arm around it and bend down and break the ice free from around its leg.
That summer every time we kayaked this one blue heron would follow us up and down the river, made me wonder if it was the same blue heron.

My son's hamster got loose in his room somehow. It was 2am and I was tapping away on the 'putor when our terrior mixed breed comes into the room. He plops a severly gummed hamster on my lap. I freaked. Hammie passed away shortly after. Sonny to this day, thinks he got outside.
