Hello,
What is the strangest food that you have eaten, or seen someone else eat?
I had Escargot (http://gourmetsleuth.com/escargot.htm) once when I was in Canada, and recently witnessed the eating up a chicken patty with mayonnaise on toasted apple fritter bread.

I once had a leaf of lettuce w/ a square of jello & dab of mayo on top. It was some European salad, I guess. Didn't taste good.

I once ate caviar and pickled herring. I don't like seafood to begin with but I tried them. We had to do a report in 6th grade on different countries and then bring in food samples for the country. One guy brought in both of those and then the teacher said he would not pass unless someone tried them. I am way to nice to people, I nearly puked, but the kid passed atleast!

That was damn good. Don't be such a hater just because you don't like mayonnaise. You have strange eating habits. You're one to talk.
I have seen "someone" eat cereal with water on it. (EVERY time on purpose not just because they don't have any milk) :Puking_Smiley:

Don't forget the grape nuts, though not as often anymore.
Keeps the soggiest stuff like total raisin bran crunchy! :hungry:

You sprinkling grape nuts on top of other cereals is not weird. Putting water on it is the weird part.

While in Vietnam I had cereal with water because the milk was sour.
Also while in Vietnam I saw a girl eat the skin and meat off chicken feet, she said she was hungry but just a little.:hungry:

That's different.. you had no choice. There is milk in the fridge that is not sour and I still see him putting water on it.
As far as the chicken........... :Puking_Smiley:

For some reason, I feel as though I would have to keep an eye on my cats (http://www.discussny.com/photoplog/index.php?n=26) and my chinchilla (http://www.discussny.com/photoplog/index.php?n=41) if you were around.

That doesn't sound good to me. I like raisins on my salad with french dressing though.

I don't think I ever tried that.
The weirdest I though for my cereal was using slim fast when I ran out of water.

I personally haven't eaten cereal in quite a few years, I don't really like milk that much. My fiance', however had hers with chocolate milk last week because we ran out of regular milk, I thought that was pretty odd - but she seemed to like it.

NickTahou's (http://garbageplate.com/) has the best garbage plate evah!!! It is my fave food. (although I haven't had one in probably two years) I even went there on Thanksgiving once. I had to work that day and went there for Thanksgiving dinner. (best Thanksgiving dinner I ever had :))

Looky what I found!
Nick Tahou's Garbage Plate
Special Sauce Ingredients:
1 - medium onion, chopped
1 - clove garlic, minced
1 - tbsp. oil
1 - lb. triple-ground beef
1 - cup H2O
1 - can tomato paste
1/2 - tbsp. brown sugar (optional)
1 - tsp. ground black pepper
3/4 - tsp. cayenne pepper
1 - tsp. chili powder
1 1/2 - tsp. paprika
1/2 - tsp. ground cumin
1/2 - tsp. allspice
1/4 - tsp. cinnamon
1/2 - tsp. powdered cloves
1 - tsp. salt (to taste)
Plate Ingredients:
(Cheeseburger Version) 8 - frozen beef patties
8 - slices of white american cheese
4 - cups cold beans
4 - cups macaroni salad
1 - medium onion, diced
4 - cups hash browns, cubed
2 - loaves of fresh Italian bread
40 - generic butter pats
1 - case Genesee beer
Step 1 - Preparing the Special Sauce: In large skillet, fry chopped onion and garlic in oil until soft. Add meat, stirring constantly with fork to keep its texture fine. Once the meat browns, add water and tomato paste. Simmer 10 minutes. Add sugar and spices. Simmer 30 minutes, adding water ,if necessary, to keep it moist but not soupy. Alternatively, you may use the griddle scrapings from Step 2 for the Secret Sauce (the authentic method).
Step 2 - Preparing the Plate: First of all, you can substitute any of Nick's other main items in place of the cheeseburger. These items are hamburger, beef hot dogs (red hots, not white hots - that's Don 'n Bob's), steak, egg, veggies, and fish (plain old whitefish, I believe). And now onto the Plate.
Take beef patties straight out of freezer and lightly sear on super hot griddle. Do the same with hash brown cubes. Melt one slice of cheese on each beef pattie. Place 1 cup of beans, 1 cup of macaroni salad, and 1 cup of hash browns on a restaurant style paper plate. Place 2 beef patties on top of the heap, in the center. Spread mustard and diced onions over the beef patties. With a ladle, cover the center of the heap with Special Sauce. Garnish with bread an butter. Serves 4.

I gross out Ed when we have Wendy's. I dip my french fries into my chocolate frosty.
My dad used to chunk up white bread into a bowl, and pour milk over it and eat it like cereal. I think it reminded him of "comfort foods" from the great depression when he was younger....or from when he was in the Marines...not quite sure.
