We moved into a more "upscale" neighborhood about 3 years ago. In this neighborhood, everyone parks inside their garages, which have autodoor openers, and they each have their own pools surrounded by privacy fences. I feel like I have move into isolation!! In my old neighborhood, we all waved and chatted to each other, since didn't park in the garage since we used it for storage...and we shovel our driveways and talked about the storms. Here, people hire plows. It's lonely here in the suburbs!!

I spent some time in small towns. I like them and the wide open country.
Suburbs are pretty much required if you want to have a reasonable commute to a city though.

We live out in the country, and feel somewhat secluded. The neighbors across the street wave hello, and we sometimes exchange a few words when I cross the street to pick up the mail.
I can't walk my dog, as we do not have sidewalks, and she is scared to death of the cars and tractor trailers that fly by doing 60+mph (posted limit is 45..heh)
We are moving in a few weeks! We are moving to a village, the houses are close, there are SIDEWALKS! Kids play in the streets, as not too many cars go down. We can actually take our kids trick-or-treating and not have to drive to my hometown in order to do so. I am soooo looking forward to the move!
