Hello,

Do you own a gun? Why?

Job? Hunting? Self defense? Recreational shooting? Because you can?

I don't think I could have a gun in my house.

I own multiple paintball markers. Even those don't ever travel gassed (think gunpowder) or loaded (think projectile). My fiance' and I have discussed this topic quite a bit in the past. I would at some point enjoy recreational target shooting, however neither of wants to deal with keeping a firearm in the house. Should I at some point in the future decide I truly do wish to begin shooting, I will join a club that I can rent a storage locker of some sort and keep the firearm there.

Two, as a matter of fact. Both are used for either self defense or recreational shooting.

1) 870 Remington Pump shotgun
2) S&W .357 Magnum

I don't own a gun. I have shot guns before (target practice). It was fun and I was actually very good. But I don't feel I need to have one.

I don't hunt, I have no problem with people who own guns legally. That is not the problem. It is the people who own them illegally.

I absolutely HATE Guns! But, my husband owns 3, I think (since he knows I hate them he bought them all in secret) One was a historical gun, can't remember what kind but its from WWII SS rifle
The others are an AK47 and some other scary looking thing that he'll be annoyed at me for not remembering what kind it is LOL

He likes to go shooting with his friends, but they are also suppose to somehow be for my protection , even though just holding the stupid things freaks me out, I do think I would definitely use them if I had too. He forced me to learn how to load them!

An AK47 for protection? Isn't that like killing a fly w/ a sledge-hammer?

At least you'll scare the crap out of anyone who comes near.

Scared the crap outta me just reading it. lol. My ex had a arsenal and had a gun cabinet. In that cabinet was a AK47. They are scary looking. My ex used to get nutz and threaten to shoot me every once in awhile. I guess thats why I don't like guns.

^WOW! Didn't mean to bring up bad memories for you honey. Thats a pretty good reason to not like guns.

His other guns are an AR-15 and the historical one is Mouser 98K MODEL 1891 if anyone cared.

They recommend storing guns and ammunition separate. I'm sure the burglar/murderer will wait while you round everything up though. :innocent:

I'm sure I opened up Pandora's box with that statement.

No harm meant and group hug of course. Just my opinion. :grouphug:

No worries. Doesn't take much to hit the trigger points. Non pun intended. If you want to hear something ALOT worse than that just PM. I didn't want to bring it up on a open forum.

Nothing like telling someone who is going to harm you to hold that thought while you remember where you put the key to unlock the box for the ammo. With kids in the house, it is a good idea to have everything in a separate location.

I dont own a gun although i tried to get a permit a few years ago and after the run around and after 1 1/2-2 years they lost my application, they said they had no record of it.
I think you should be able to have a gun in your home that is there for protection and i think you should not need a permit, hell its your right to do so and to protect yourself.
My cars got broke into a couple nights ago in my own fenced in yard with a lock on the 6 foot gate. We called the police and they were nice enough to take a report over the phone, they dont come out for stuff like that.
I think as a citizen i have the right to ask them to do so but sadley no.
I guess thats the way the police are. I am not going to go on cuz it dont
any good any way so...be happy.

let's remember that old adage - guns don't kill people - it's the idiot that picks it up who hasn't had the proper training that kills people. it's ignorance and/or sheer stupidity that kills people.

I'm a Director of a local gun club - we stress safe gun handling at all times. I feel safer at the gun club than I do walking the streets of downtown Rochester.

Actually... it is the bullet leaving the chamber at a high rate of speed.
