wordpress plugin issue

Ok, so I hate keeping up with all the wordpress updates. Decided to start updating all mine tonight which went fine, until I went to reactivate plugins. Went to reactivate one and it kept causing fatal errors that I was unable to resolve. So I decided to remove it totally and figure out a new solution but my ftp will not allow me to remove the folder its in for:
error 550:Cannot remove directory:Directory not empty

Anyone know a way around this? This plugin which I used to LOVE ended up crashing the whole blog. So I quickly went in, renamed the file it was in (the plugin) since it wouldn't let me delete it and my site is live again, but it would be nice to be rid of the whole thing...somehow!

There's probably a dot-file in there, like .htaccess, that your FTP program isn't showing, but since the folder isn't empty, you can't delete the folder. Check FTP preferences & make sure you can see dot files.

Yup, should be something like "show hidden files and folders" :)
