Hello,

Between myself and Big Dan DiscussNY.com has been around for almost a year now. It's great to see how far it has come and I have high hopes for where the site will go in the future. Theresa has been a big help along the way. Always posting, referring in new friends, giving new members both public and private warm welcomes and answering any questions they may have about the site, and generally making DiscussNY a fun place to hang out.

I am happy to announce that my latest forum is now live. It is an E-Mail Forum (http://www.emailquestions.com/email-forum.php) where you can ask E-Mail Questions (http://www.emailquestions.com/). The goal of the site is to be an e-mail help desk site where you can ask questions, and comment/review anything and everything in the world of e-mail. It would be great if some of the DiscussNY members could give it a visit, make a few threads/posts, and provide me with some feedback on the site.

In the meantime, while I am busy doing my link building and promoting of E-Mail Questions, Theresa will be helping out a lot more with DiscussNY. She is taking the lead on the DiscussNY Meetup that we will be doing this fall and other time consuming projects. No worries, I'm not going anywhere and as always will be on the site as often as I can. If you have any ideas on how to keep DiscussNY growing and be a fun and happy place please let Theresa know.

Thank you,
-Raymond

Sweet sounds like a site that's right up my alley!! :) When I get one of my geeky domains up and running, you'll be the first for a blog roll link.

I'll be on my best behavior for Theresa ! :p

:thanks: I have poured my heart and soul into this forum. I am trying my best to make it bigger and better. It has been a lot of work! I am glad you (Ray) found something else to do so I can run with this one. :)

Very nice looking site - the light colors are a relief on the eyes after being here for so long (Ray! Drop the dark colors! ;) )

Gee Eric, Ray gets done saying this site is my baby now and the first thing you do is knock it. I got my eye on you!

Lilac purple would be nice. New York is home of the Lilac fest after all.

I like the DiscussNY blue style.

FWIW I like the EQ style better during the day, but later at night I like the DiscussNY style better.

vBulletin mod of the month idea !!!

Let a site change the display of the style based on the members time of day.

Use a light style during their daytime hours, and a darker style at night.

:yay:

first of all, congrats!
also, isn't there a "hack" somewhere were the user can change the skin by use of a drop down?

It's a built in feature. We can have multiple styles installed and let the users pick their preferred style. As is there is the DiscussNY Blue and I force that style on all members. Also, multiple styles creates the additional time and expense overhead of having to maintain multiple styles, check them all when changes are made (including template changes), getting all of the custom bits created -- matching logos, buttons, and other images, etc.

I did not say fuhgedaboutit, I said keep your baby growing so that it can pay for it's own expenses and we'll get it done. ;)
