This has to be the first forum I hang out on that isn't constant webmaster talk. I was just curious if and who else owns/ runs websites on here besides me? I currently run over 50 sites but most of my attention is now drifting toward graphic and web design for clients which takes me away from working on my own sites alot. But I love the work I get from clients. Anyone else?

I have a website that I bought from Ray but he knows more about running it than I do.

Eric (esnagel) is a webmaster extraordinaire.

I'm slightly confused at the moment and can't find the web site I want to show you.

Eric can post it...

Thanks Ray! I build websites, but they're for affiliate marketing, not for other clients. WhooshUSA.com (http://www.whooshusa.com/) is the latest I've been working on.

I run my DJ Forum (http://www.ourdjtalk.com/) as well as a few other forums, and blogs in including my personal. Also, I host a few people on my server and do some html & php coding here and there.

I got one forum sitting doing nothing I haven't done anything except buy a theme.. I gotta get to promoting that when I get back home.

I need more work. :D :)

What kind of work are you looking to have done on the vBulletin forum?

Check out vBFAQ (http://www.vbulletin-faq.com/forum/)! It's a great resource for vBulletin Administrators.

Doubt I could understand the VB language but thanks. I was looking for a few mods, a new theme and a arcade with some games and a Google ads. One day if I can afford it I will hire someone, but doubt that will come anytime soon. Your place looks great. Thanks.

I co-captain a paintball team and we have a site and a forum (loadedcrows.com)

I also am a hands on IT mgr and run a few sites for work:
http://www.peakpsi.com
http://www.mojungle.com

We generally farm out (either to internal or external resources) design work, but I maintain all servers.

Most readme/install files are easy to follow. I'm definately not a php coder, but manage to figure out most product installs on my own. They are usually as simple as uploading an XML file, maybe some supplemental php files to your site, and some lite template edits for dummies like me that say "go to this line" and "add these lines".

Ray might beat me up for saying this, but I've been using phpBB software for some of my own forums for a few years now. When I did my original research I found phpBB had more features I cared about than the alternatives. I've had great luck with it, find the installs are easy enough to walk other people through, documentation is good, etc.

off topic for you:
phpBB3 went Gold last week, and I upgraded my main pb forum like Tuesday. It was far easier than I thought it would be. Biggest thing to realize if you currently have a bb2 and are going to phpBB3 is its not *really* an upgrade, its much more a whole new product that comes with some conversion utility scripts that import your existing data (posts, users, - everything except look and feel) into a new DB for you.

That's not necessarily true because of the large amount of free addons available for vBulletin at vBulletin.org. vBulletin is better software too. I can understand the logic of starting with phpBB and migrating to vBulletin later if the forum takes off and you want something better for your members. ;)
