I'm a SUNY Albany student and for awhile I worked as a tour guide within the Admissions department so I know a bit about transfer students and admissions.

Over the past few years, the acceptance rate of students has decreased at SUNY Albany (The school has become more competitive). With a 3.1, I would still say you have a fair chance at getting into the university. While high school students would probably struggle to get into the university with a 3.1, the criteria is different for transfer students. I would certainly call the admissions office however, and I would apply as soon as possible if you are planning on attending for the spring semester. It may even be too late.

You can message me for more information if you'd like. I'm a junior and I know a lot about the university.

Good luck!

Your GPA is a little bit lower than the generally required 3.3, but you might have a shot.

Two pieces of advice:

1. ALWAYS double check your spelling and grammer when making educational inquires in any forum.

2. NEVER let anyone hold you back from putting forth effort. Even if your GPA was lower, still apply. You could wow them in an interview or they may see intagibles in you that other candidates don't have. This world relies too much on standarizations.
