I love the elemantary school my kids are in. The Munn school in Spencerport, I think is one of the best that I have heard about.

They do so much at all grade levels. Starting in KG, they have different levels of all subjects, because they know that all kids enter and learn at different paces. They are always checking and the levels, and letting the kids know just because you have a different paper then the kids next to you, you are no different.

They also have grade level, classroom level, bus rides, and cafeteria time all rewarded. They do what they call SOAR. (Self Others Actions Ready to learn) Every month they have a different trait they work on, building from one to the next. Responsibility was last month. So take that trait and apply it to SOAR. Then each each awards a student in their class. It really seems to work. All the kids are into it.

I don't remember much about my grade school.

I didn't care much in middle school.

In high school i know a big perk we had was a wide variety of AP level college courses available.

It was possible for students to almost knock off their entire freshman college year (~ 30 credits) if they wanted to.

I'm a slacker. I took a couple of AP's, but not that many.

Just found an actually ranking of hish schools nationally. My school district always brags about being nationally ranked which is a driving force for home sales in my school district, I don't see the bis deal about my schools actually but they were ranked for 2007
#1095 Fayetteville-Manlius Manlius N.Y.

Feel free to look up your own schools if you want to High School Rankings (http://www.newsweek.com/id/39380/?sort=Rank&count=1236&start=0&limit=100&year=2007&Search=undefined)

I went to Williamsville North.

The closest ranked school from my district is Williamsville East (http://www.newsweek.com/id/39380/?sort=Rank&count=1236&start=0&limit=100&year=2007&Search=williamsville) ranked 624.

I'm thinking schools are boosting their rankings because ours claims to be hirer ranked also. Must be another list of rankings they rank higher on

I find it very hard to believe that Corcoran is ranked while Liverpool is not. Corcoron is a city school. BTW, hello everyone, I live in ATL but grew up in Liverpool (suberb of the 'Cuse) and attended St. Fischer College and UB so i am familiar with both Rochester and Buffalo.

It is worth noting that there are A LOT of NY schools on that list compared to other states.
