i have a goal to lose 25 pounds before summer time

There are roughly 3600 calories in a pound.

You burn 100 calories for every mile that you run.

Of course running in itself will over time tune your body to be more efficient and burn foods better as you eat them.

Depending on the workout and exercise it should be doable.

I went from the high 170's maybe 180 to 157 in something like 7 weeks a couple years ago.

Crib notes version:

Eat many meals a day - at least 6
Exercise, including weight lifting (as muscle burns calories) and interval training
Don't eat after dinner (like a Gremlin rule)
Eat the right foods. If you don't know how to eat yet, go on Weight Watchers for a few months
If you ask in December, you won't be in shape for summer. It takes a long time to get in good shape (you can lose weight in a few weeks, but to get in shape, it takes many months)
