I ate about a deck of meat, 11.5 fl oz "V8", water, medium size burrito, 2/5 cup of beans, 1 pint of milk, 1 cup cereal, 2 slices of wheat bread toast, 2 Nutri-grain cereal bars, 1/2-1 cup of homeade french fries, 1/2 cup tomato, 1/8 cup of onions, some lettuce, and 4 corn tortillas. Is this healthy?
burrito-homemade, 1% milkfat for milk, 13 years old, 155 pounds, height: 5'5, or 5' 6. I do not really know my actual height, but the last time I went to the doctor I was 5' 5. The last time I went was like in july or August
split top wheat bread, FOX brand lettuce
(not FOX broadcasting company)

Depends on your age & wheather your trying to lose weight or not. But french fries & milk are not healthy. Unless the milk was skim or soy. Was the burrito from Taco Bell? Then no, if home made prob ok. It's really good you eat wheat bread instead of white.

Saying milk is unhealthy unless it was skim is incorrect. 1% or 2% are just fine although I prefer fat free for myself. I would say that if you did a random survey of most 13 year olds, this kids eating habits aren't horrid.

He ate beans, tomatoes, lettuce, V8 juice, water, milk, and wheat bread. For a snack he had two nutrigrain bars. He also knew what the correct portion size was for one serving of meat. (the size of a deck of cards)

If I were to guess what a "typical" 13 year old eats in one day, it wouldn't be nearly as good as this kid. Their drinks would most likely be pop, Kool aid, and then some more pop with no milk or water at all. The homemade burrito would be replaced by at least 2 burritos at taco bell, a couple of meximelts, some cinnamon twisties, and a mammoth sized pop to wash it down with. (don't forget the free refills) Their snacks would include potato chips instead of homemade french fries. (of course they wouldn't measure as this kid does and probably eat 5-6 servings for their "snack") Later on they would probably have a candy bar or two for a snack with some more pop.

This kid may not be following the food pyramid to the letter, but I would say that for a typical 13 year old, he is way ahead of most in the nutrition department. I was impressed that he knew the serving size for meat and was measuring his food. I would say he is a smart kid. In my opinion, whether he is just trying to eat healthier or lose some body fat, He isn't way off base compared to most teenagers.

The only thing I think he may want to change is to eat more vegetables and he needs some fruit. He may also want to cut down on his carbohydrates. I will say it again though, compared to the "average teen" I still think he is ahead of the game. :)

Go to www.mypyramid.gov, sign up for an account, and put in the food you ate in a day. It will tell you if you got enough of the different food groups, vitamins, etc.

A lot of the foods you mentioned were vague. Is the milk skim or whole? Not all wheat bread is high in fiber. Your lettuce iceberg or Romaine? Plus you need to add more fruit to your eating. But overall it's pretty good.
