View Full Version : Why am I not getting paid overtime as a New York City Dunkin Donuts employee?

I worked 43 hours and I didn't get paid time and a half. I found out other employees for the franchise aren't getting paid overtime either.

The owner is third generation Italian and owns 20 KFCs and a few Dunkin Donuts, so I'm sure he knows what he's doing or he's just plain arrogant.

I can't seem to find anything that clearly states this is illegal both on a state and federal level. Can someone help me out?

Yes. My sister said to call the department of labor, because it is against the law (state and federal), to not pay someone overtime if they have worked over 40 hours per week. Furthermore, if you report them, they will have to pay you for all the overtime you've done thus far.
