Hellppp. im only actualy a size six but over the past few months i noticed some excess fat forming on my hips and on the sides of my body near my rib cage. i eat pretty unhealthy and snack most of the time. so have recently started trying to cut down and eat healthy. iv started doing sit ups and crunches on a night and morning but is this enough to shift the unwanted flab or do i need to join a gym? i dont really have a problem with it any where else however i have started to notice a few faint stretch marks on the sides of my bum. iv been using palmers coco body butter but is there anything else i can do to shift them??
thanks nat.

Sit ups and crunches won't get rid of any fat. The only kind of exercise that really burns fat is cardio. You should still do the crunches for your muscles, but you should add about 30 minutes of cardio 3-5x a week at least to burn some fat. You don't have to join a gym if you don't want to - you can go for a walk/jog, do a cardio dvd, or jump rope to get your cardio in.

Situps are pointless when trying to get rid of subcutaneous fat stores.
A nice body is built 80% in the kitchen and 20% in the gym.
Do squats and deadlifts and you'll have a keister to die for.

Unfortunately you can't pick and choose where you lose fat. Your fat cells shrink when you lose weight but you don't get to choose which ones. You can tone certain areas, that's about the extent of it.

Your body probably has the metabolize that can keep your weight down. I have put up several healthy menus to go by and will continue to do so. Here is a method I have told alot of people for alot of different areas to remind yourself not to get back to a routine of doing something you don't want to do. Wear a rubberband on your wrist. Everytime you feel the need to go for that junk food pull the rubber band and snap.
Lately I been snacking on almonds. They are filling and a healthy snack food.
