speaking of uniforms....well...it's a slight uniform, more of a dress code with extremely limited choices:

Girl sent to principal's office because of too many buttons.
That is completely ridiculous! I hope the next day she wore just one BIG one that said, "Why don't you all go F__ yourself??"

Seriously, of all the terrible things kids could be wearing and doing now buttons are a crime???

Thats what gets me. They pick on the boys that wear the baggy pants that show their boxers ( I dont have a problem with that ) and some of these girls with their skimpy shirts they let go. I guess the principal wanted more cleavage and less buttons. Another reason not to trust some schools these days.

I am definitely opposed to school uniforms in public schools, however I do recognize their merit:
Quick anecdote:
When I was in basic training, recruits were not allowed to smoke cigarettes. A few buddies and I would routinely "practice our recon techniques" against out drill sgt. by sneaking out of the barracks at night to light up. One particular night for some ridiculously stupid reason we all decided to change out of our BDUs and try sneaking around the base in our Civies. I can honestly tell you the 5 of us were the closest of friends, were the 5 older guys in the platoon, we each were at least one or two ranks higher than the others due to scouts or college (depending on how much school etc. you can start in the Army as high as E4 if you enlist after your undergradate degree). Well, the 5 of us looked at each other in our civilian clothes and we all admitted complete bewilderment. We had: 1 cowboy / hick, 1 goth type, 1 preppy / yuppy, 1 metal punk, and 1 inner city thug. It was amazing, we all agreed had we met out of uniform for the first time none of us would even give each other the time of day, let alone be friendly, or in our case the best of friends.

Odd what clothes do to you, huh?
