| When we lived in an apartment, we had a neighbor named Wilfred. His nickname was Whitey. He was a cute little man in his upper 80's. He went out every single morning to Wegmans grocery store. That was his big outing for the day. I used to give him homemade banana bread or extra stew or extras that we had for dinner once in awhile. I have some really nice pictures of him with the girls. (I am going to try to find them all this weekend and get them up here) Here is what I wrote on his page at the funeral home and I am also posting a picture of him with Jenna and one of our other neighbors Joel who the girls called "Uncle Joel": Whitey was our neighbor for about 5 years on Dewey Avenue. I have some very nice pictures of him with my children. He was so sweet. We loved him. He used to go out every single morning for his big outing to Wegmans to pick up a few things. I used to send over homemade breads or extra stew for him once in awhile. We always exchanged Christmas cards. He attended a few of my daughters' birthday parties in the courtyard at the apartments. I have a really nice picture of the girls and he together taken one Easter morning when they were all dressed up. (I made him a 5X7 and he had it in his living room) We lost touch after he moved from the apartment. We used to stop in every Halloween after we moved away to trick or treat at his house. He always invited us in to chat for a few minutes. Then one year we stopped and he wasn't there anymore. We will really miss him. He was a sweet, kind, funny, and gentle man. I am going to look for the pictures and scan them and put them up on my website (discussny.com) if the family would like to copy and save them. I will try to have them up this weekend. God Bless you all. We loved Whitey. Theresa, Jasmine, and Jenna
