| I dont know if its the same in the US, but in the UK at the moment, every shop in the country has gone totally mad about not giving you a plastic carrier bag to put your items in that you have bought from the shop. They say to you "do you want a bag" and look at you as if to say "you dare say yes!!!". You are expected to bring along your own bag to carry your shopping in. This relates to grocery shopping as well as buying clothes etc. I always forget to take a plastic carrier bag out with me, so I always ask for a bag and I take my life into my own hands every time. The thing that really irritates me though is the clothes shopping thing. If you have bought a dress, well of course you want a bag to put it in, you cant walk out of the shop with the dress over your arm and everyone can see what youve bought, its just plain stupid. Today I bought some underwear and they asked me if I wanted a bag, of course I want a bag you idiot, do you think im going to put this bra on my head and walk out of the shop! Its just plain ridiculous |

| I've seen recyclable bags at a few stores. Wal-mart is one of them. You can buy wal-mart bags and use them for shopping at the store instead of getting plastic bags when you are checking out.

| I've only just experienced this in recent months ... after the first few times and being charged 10c extra for the bag (which isn't much I know) but it makes you realise that somewhere someone has taken the step towards bettering the environment. So I went out and bought a bag which folds up into a very small one which goes in my handbag. It has come in handy many times now. I also bought a whole heap of enviro bags to do my grocery shopping with, and inevitably I get through my grocery shopping and realise I have left them in the boot of my car I will eventually get used to remembering. We all have to some day I guess.

| I always buy a carrier bag on a cash-desk when I go to the shop for foodstuffs. It's biobag which helps our environment and cost 15 euro cents. I don't know where they are free. But I can get free bag for example if I buy many-many goods in that shop or buy some clothers in fashion shop.

| Local Legend | Down in Maryland I think there is a extra charge if you use the plastic bags. They want you to bring your own cloth bags. My problem is I only shop about once a month or so. I can never remember to bring the clothe bags plus since I shop very rarely I need several bags. Mr. Raven usually picks up the weekly things like bread, eggs, milk, something for his lunch, drinks. And then I buy in bulk every month or two. |

| This is my problem, that I cant remember to bring bags out with me, and to be honest its just one more added thing to remember and I just cant do it anymore. I am sorry that Im not helping the environment by doing this, but I want a bag when I purchase something, especially clothes. |
